Guess What? Here is Why You Should Never Give in to Worry
Do you find yourself worrying often?
Read this and find out why you should never allow worry to take root in your heart.
I remember when I wrote the thesis for my Undergraduate Degree program. The topic of this research work was Occupational Hazards and its relationship to mortality rate. We tried to examine the relationship between causes of Death and Occupation.
So we collated data from death records from different primary health care centers across the city. And I still find the result amazing.
Guess what we found out?
You wouldn’t believe that we discovered that the occupation that had the highest number of deaths from cardiovascular related issues was from HOUSEWIVES! Things like Stroke, Hypertension….you get my drift.
Why will housewives die more from such things?
And I thought about it and came to the realization that it’s just because we are women. As women, we often believe that everyone’s problems belong to us and then we worry about ourselves, our husbands, our children (or lack of them), our family members. We worry about the bills, we worry about the school our children will attend, we worry about the way somebody is relating with us… we just Worry!
And you know I just love the way the Bible addresses us sometimes. It says:
“…how many of you by worrying can add a single moment to your life?” Matthew 6:27
Nobody ever got anything done by worrying!
This week Remember This:
“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Philippians 4:6-7 MSG
When worry comes your way and you feel like giving in to it, just remember God’s word and let His peace wash over you.
Have a Blessed Week.
