A Gift From God
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
– John 6:51
Jesus is the Living bread.
Have you ever wondered about what makes the difference between you and non-Christians? I think about these things sometimes, and I see one fundamental difference is the belief that Jesus Christ is our saviour. I mean, a lot of others agree for the need for a divine figure, but no other way of life takes Jesus as Lord and saviour. And this makes me wonder, how much of this benefit of who Jesus is am I taking to heart each day of my life?
Am I allowing myself to take the gift that Jesus offers? How often do I meditate on the word that comes from God Himself? Do I even allow myself the luxury of feasting on God’s word enough?
My dear sister, God’s word – Jesus – is a gift to you, will you choose to embrace this gift, unwrap it daily, and take advantage of the full options and benefits that come from His word?

Jesus says that He is the bread of life, and I love how this verse of scripture puts it, “Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
It says, whoever, which means this opportunity is open to everyone that chooses to embrace it. It also says, whoever comes to me, which means that you must act and choose to dig deeper into God’s word for yourself.
God’s word is Jesus Himself. How often will you draw nearer to Him? Note that this is not about you listening to what someone else has to say about Jesus, but it is about you drawing close to God’s word for yourself.
If you come to Him, His promise is that you will not hunger or thirst any longer.
Choose to draw close today.
Prayer Moment
Lord, I thank you for the privilege I must know Jesus. I am thankful that I do not have to go through anyone to reach Jesus as the walls that divided us have been taken away. What a blessing it is to draw close to the Lord today.
I thank You for the opportunity to have Jesus as my most precious gift.
And so, I make a fresh commitment to seek out, dig deeper, and draw close to the Lord. Help me Lord to keep my feet stronger in seeking you always, in Jesus’ name.
– Amen
Love,
