The Power of Saying No for Moms: Saying No Takes Practice

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”

– Isaiah 30:15

Saying ‘No’ takes practice.

I once had a friend who always found it difficult to say No to requests from people. He would go as far as putting himself in a position of doing something for different people at the same time and space.

He was a good guy, but soon, the same people he was trying to please, began to see him as unreliable.

Why?

He wanted to do everything to please everyone.

Believe me when I say to you sincerely: you cannot do everything for everyone!

In fact, the fastest way to burn out completely is to do what everyone wants.

Everyone needs to learn the practise and act of Saying ‘Yes to Saying No’ sometimes.

Even when you’re doing good things, they end up adding up to become an overwhelming headache for you.

Today, embrace the act of Saying No without feeling guilty about it.

To practise silence and solitude, as we are learning, our lives cannot be clogged and cluttered with activities.

One of the ways to declutter and make room in our lives is to learn to say ‘No’ to the things that strive for the space we want to make in our lives.

What things do you need to say No to today? Start now.

Prayer Moment

Thank You, Lord, because my strength lies in You. Thank You, Father, for through You I can do all things.

I pray Lord, that in any area where I may be growing weary and tired, You will give me strength. As a mom, I ask for the strength to lead my children in the right way.

I speak strength into every weak area of my life, and I receive the supernatural strength from on high.

I will not be put into bondage by the thoughts the devil tries to put in my head, but I am subject only to Your will in Jesus’ name. Amen

Love,
