Lessons from Easter Part 2: Remember What God Said To You

“Remember what He said to you”.

This is the second lesson in our series on Lessons from Easter.

You can read Lesson 1 here.

For a lot of us, when we are faced with challenging moments or when things are not going the exact way we thought they should, we get confused.

Just picture the women in Luke 24, whose sole goal was to go on and anoint the body of Jesus. The probably figured, we already lost Him anyway, the least we can do is anoint His body! ?

Anoint His body? Really? Did you forget do very quickly everything He said to you?

That’s exactly what happened here.

They forgot, or maybe they didn’t really believe in the first place.

You know how God tells you things about yourself and your future and you ‘hear’ but your mind chooses to act ignorant?

That’s exactly the scenario here.

Jesus had been with them for over three years and He had prepared them for this moment but they still didn’t get it.

How many times has God spoken to us and given us His precious promises that our minds choose to not grasp them?

“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:1-5‬ NIV

Do you believe that the angels had to ask them why they were looking for the living amongst the dead!

The angels needed to remind them of what Jesus had said to them.

“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Remember how He told you?!

What has Jesus told you?

What did He tell you when everything was still great that you’ve forgotten about because of the circumstances around you?

What have you allowed the troubles and the storms of life to make you forget?

It’s time to bring them back to mind and walk in that assurance that He is too faithful to fail. If He has promised, He is able and even more than willing to bring it to pass in your life.

All you need to do is REMEMBER what He has told you.

What lessons are you learning from the Easter story? I’d love to hear from you. Please share your lessons with me also.
